Hmmm....I love hot chocolate, especially with a little shot of Bailey's in it! Tee-hee! I figured I needed one today as daughter #2, Sydney, is not cooperating by not taking a nap. She has been in her crib since 1 p.m. and it's now 2:20 p.m. Of course, daughter #1, Lindsey, is sleeping right through it! I'm sure it's because when I ran to Target earlier today, DH let Sydney fall asleep on the floor for 45 minutes and then woke her up. BIG MISTAKE! She's probably raring to go now. I first went in there at about 1:20 p.m. and she had proceeded to throw everything out of her crib, including her pants and the diaper she had taken off. She was asking for a diaper change I guess! I'm still holding out hope that she'll fall asleep, even for a short while.
DH, Brian, is off ice fishing this afternoon and evening. He went last weekend too. Ummm, I wonder what he did with those crappies that he caught. I haven't seen them and they sound good about now. Stepson, Brice, who is 17, is off to band practice. He plays in a band that he formed with a few other guys. He has a real love for it and has a good time. He is a senior this year and will be off to UW-Stout this fall. It will be strange not having him coming and going. But then again, UW-Stout isn't that far away, so maybe we'll see him more often than we think!
Well, I'm off to get a little novel reading in. I'm currently reading...'M' for Malice, by Sue Grafton. I may surf the web for a bit as well. PLEASE, little Sydney, just get a little sleep, would you?

What am I doing?
I really don't know what made me start this blog! I don't know why I think I'm going to have time to write here when I can't even keep my house clean. But, I will try. This blogging is new to me, and it seems like journaling. I used to do that a lot when I was a teenager and am feeling the need to again. Lucky you!
My name is Kim. I am 38 years old and a mom to two year old identical twin girls, Lindsey & Sydney. They were born extremely early, at 24 weeks gestation, weighing only 17.5 ounces (498 grams) and 18 ounces (509 grams) and they were about 11" long. What a JOURNEY it has been!
More on this later, as I have to run. I'm heading to Las Vegas to meet my DH, Brian, for a little R & R. He is out there for work and I thought I'd join him for the weekend. The girls will be well taken care of by my best friend, and also, my brother & SIL.
I'll be back...
